3D Displays in the Age of AI
Packard 101
Talk Abstract: 3D technology is entering an exciting new era, powered by innovations in display hardware and intelligent software. At Leia, we are pioneering 2D-to-3D switchable screen technology and leveraging AI to convert 2D content into immersive 3D experiences in real time and optimize the 3D viewing experience. AI enables key advancements such as 3D eye tracking using a single camera—critical for consumer-grade 3D on mobile devices—and face prediction, which anticipates the user’s position to account for system delays. Additionally, AI helps mitigate crosstalk for blur-free 3D visuals and manages 3D content composition, including depth and convergence, to minimize visual fatigue. In this talk, I will discuss these technologies, the challenges of scaling 3D content, and how AI is transforming 3D experiences for mainstream adoption. As part of the session, I will showcase a gaming laptop, and a consumer tablet equipped with Leia’s 2D-to-3D switchable technology. Attendees will get to experience 3D gaming, 3D picture-taking, and even a 3D chat session between the two devices!
