Congratulations to Professor Stephen P. Boyd on receiving the 2023 Richard E. Bellman Control Heritage Award by the American Automatic Control Council. HIs citation reads, “For pioneering contributions and sustained leadership in the development and application of advanced optimization algorithms.”

Stephen was formally presented with the award at the 2023 American Control Conference (ACC), held recently in San Diego.

The Bellman Award is given for distinguished career contributions to the theory or application of automatic control. It is the highest recognition of professional achievement for US control systems engineers and scientists.
