What I Do

lab64 Makerspace manager and EE101A instructor!

Origins

I am originally from Stanford--really! I was born at Stanford Hospital, and I have lived in the the Bay Area ever since--currently living in Menlo Park. I started my EE journey at UC Berkeley in EECS, and came to Stanford for my MS and Ph.D. (in EE) where I worked for Don Cox studying wireless communications. I spent 25 years in telecom in a mixture of both startups and large companies before returning to Stanford, where I am currently running the lab64 Makerspace and teaching EE101A.

My EExperience

I work with a great group of people in a fantastic department, and the fact that I get to teach/guide/empower the next generation of engineers who are as enthusiastic as I am is just the cherry on top!

When I'm not at work

I'm officially Italian now, and my wife and I spend a lot of time back and forth to our apartment in Rome! I love puzzles and puzzlehunts, backpacking, and the number 17. And of course, teaching.

Favorite Spot

On campus: lab64, of course! Off campus: Rome and Yosemite.
