What I Do

As a faculty admin I primarily support Professor Philip Wong and his group, the Nanoelectronics Lab. I also help support the California-Pacific-Northwest AI Hardware Hub.

Origins

I was born in London, England but moved to the SF Bay Area with my parents and younger brother when I was 3 years old. My extended family still lives in England and it will always feel like a second home. Some of my favorite childhood memories are visiting my grandpa in West Dorset and going fossil hunting, which I got to do again last Spring.

For college, I moved to Southern California and ended up living there for almost 8 years and received my Master’s in Teaching from UC Irvine. Working in educational environments has always been my passion, and transitioning to the administrative side of education has been fulfilling and enjoyable. I worked in an administrative position at UCI’s School of Engineering before moving to my current position at Stanford in April 2024.

My EExperience

I feel very grateful to have landed in the EE Department at Stanford. My immediate impression was how friendly and kind everyone is. I am constantly inspired by the students and faculty I get to work with and the passion and dedication they bring to their work. It is an energizing environment to be in. As a new employee, I really appreciate the effort EE makes to promote community within the department, like organizing social events and doing Staff Spotlights!

Outside of Work

I enjoy creative hobbies and always have multiple arts and crafts projects going at a time, such as painting, sewing, and building miniature models. On the weekends, I also enjoy baking and hiking. Since moving back to the Bay Area, it has been fun exploring new hiking spots. Some recent favorites have been Mori Point and Windy Hill Open Space Preserve.

Favorite Spot

I’m still getting to know more of campus and love getting suggestions. Over the summer I attended an event at the Frost Amphitheater, which is a fun venue. Another great spot I recently visited is the coffee shop in the new Computing & Data Science building. Also, shout-out to the Via Ortega parking garage sunsets. During Winter quarter I got to see some amazing sunsets after work.
