Professor Howard Zebker has been appointed the next Kwoh-Ting Li Professor in the School of Engineering. Howard is widely recognized for his development of radar interferometry, which has enabled spaceborne and airborne sensors to measure topography with meter-scale precision and surface deformation with millimeter-level accuracy.

The Kwoh-Ting Li Professorship was established in 2000 by the Friends of the Stanford University Foundation in honor of economist Dr. Kwoh-Ting Li, a champion of technological innovation in Taiwan. Previous holders of this professorship were Management Science and Engineering Professor Yinyu Ye and Electrical Engineering Professor Thomas Cover.
