About the talk: Our brain uses electrical signals for communication, and by sensing and modulating these electrical activities, we can create direct connections between the human brain and the external world. We will discuss components of a fully implanted, scalable brain-computer interface (BCI) at Neuralink, its initial application in restoring autonomy to individuals with paralysis, and what's next.

About the speaker: DJ Seo is the co-founder, president, and COO of Neuralink. He received his PhD in EECS and neuroscience from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science degree from Caltech. He is an inventor of ultrasonic wireless neural implant technology called Neural Dust and has decades of experience designing low-power, distributed sensor networks and next-generation wireless communication systems. DJ grew up in South Korea, and is looking forward to a future where a whole-brain interface expands the ways we experience the world.
