Please join us for the first session in our 30th Anniversary series with US-ATMC Director Dr. Richard Dasher as he provides an overview on new businesses in Asia driven by climate-tech and sustainability. The session also includes a special feature: Dr. Amit Kapoor, Honorary Chairman of the Institute for Competitiveness, India, will join the session to present recent findings on the economic impact of sustainability.

Dr. Richard Dasher has directed the US-Asia Technology Management Center since 1994 and is Adjunct Professor of East Asia Languages and Cultures at Stanford University. From 1998 – 2017, he served concurrently as Executive Director of the Center for Integrated Systems (now Stanford System X Alliance) and held Consulting Professor appointments in the Department of Electrical Engineering. In 2004, Dr. Dasher became the first non-Japanese person to join the governance of a Japanese national university, serving on the Board of Directors and then on the Management Council of Tohoku University until 2011. Other service (selected) includes the Program Committee of the World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) of MEXT since its founding in 2007, and advisory roles with research institutes, accelerators, and nonprofits in Asia, Canada, and the U.S.

Dr. Amit Kapoor is Honorary Chairman at Institute for Competitiveness, India; and Editor-in-Chief of Thinkers. He is the chair for the Social Progress Imperative & Shared Value Initiative in India. He is an affiliate faculty for the Microeconomics of Competitiveness & Value Based Health Care Delivery courses of Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, Harvard Business School. He is also a lecturer at Stanford University, team-teaching "Rebalancing Economic Systems" with Dr. Dasher in Winter Quarter.  Dr. Kapoor is the Principal Investigator for the India Competitiveness Project that is headed by Professor Michael E. Porter of Harvard Business School.  He is the author of bestsellers “Riding the Tiger” and “The Age of Awakening: The Story of the Indian Economy Since Independence” published by Penguin Random House. He has been inducted into the Competitiveness Hall of Fame which is administered by Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School.
