EE 185: Interactive Light Sculpture Project

Community sculpture to commemorate EE's 125th anniversary
Monday, October 7, 2019 - 3:00pm
Gates 392
Abstract / Description:

Weekly workshop on the interactive light art installation we are building to celebrate the 125 Anniversary of the EE department. The current proposed design includes a collection of moving shapes with dichroic glass, such that the colors they reflect and shade change with time of day and motion. At night, integrated LEDs will light the shapes. The piece will be installed in the large, glass-walled stairwell of Packard.

These weekly workshops are a way for students, faculty, staff, and alumni from across the university to be involved in and contribute to the art piece. Charles Gadeken, the artistic director for the project, will be leading the workshops.
