CSIF to host Photometrix webinars
The first will be a quick short session review of imaging principles, terminologies for all who deal with imaging and image analysis.
The second webinar will cover the core understanding of different camera designs.
- Date: 9/30 Wednesday 11:00am-12:15pm
- Basic Principles of Scientific Imaging – Covers basic subjects like resolution and sensitivity, sources of noise and what types are important for specific applications, quantum efficiency, and a practical session with a live camera demo to apply these principles.
- Date: 10/1 Thursday 11:00am-12:15pm
- Introduction to Camera Technology – Covers the sensor differences between CCD, EMCCD, sCMOS, and back-illuminated sCMOS. This will cover the pros and cons with each of these sensors for different applications and why. This also incorporates the principles from the Principles of Basic Scientific Imaging (such as QE, noise, and pixel size), but it is not required to attend the first to understand the second.
