For the most recent information, please see ee-admissions.stanford.edu Prospective EE Graduate StudentsThe Electrical Engineering Department accepts applications for full-time study toward the degrees of M.S., Engineer and Ph.D. for the autumn quarter only. Honors Cooperative Program (HCP) applications are accepted quarterly for the M.S. and Engineer programs only. Applicants must hold a U.S. Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in order to be eligible for admission. Application Deadline for Full-Time StudyDecember 15, 2009 is the application deadline for full time study for autumn 2010 - 2011 start. All application materials must be received by this date in order to be consideration for admission and financial support. The department strongly recommends GRE tests be taken early in the Fall to ensure that the University receives them by the deadline. This also applies to TOEFL scores, if required. ' Application ProceduresApply online at gradadmissions.stanford.edu. Make sure your first and last names remain consistent throughout the application process. If your email address changes throughout the application process, send an email update to: addmissions@ee.stanford.edu to keep the admissions staff informed. The application fee is US $125. Establish a user account (as instructed on-line) and enter a credit card payment (Visa or Mastercard) or pay by check electronically via a U.S. bank account. When your electronic application has been submitted, Stanford University will notify you via your user account. You will not receive a confirmation from the Electrical Engineering Department. See the EE Graduate Admissions Website for more information: ee-admissions.stanford.edu If you are unable to apply online:Request a paper application in writing (no personal visits, phone calls or emails), and include a statement explaining why you are unable to use the online application. In addition to the US $125 fee, there is a US $20 non-refundable paper application fee which is to be paid in advance by check or money order (payable to Stanford University). Do not send cash. Send your request and payment to: Stanford University Graduate Admissions 630 Serra Street, Suite 120 Stanford, CA 94305-6032 It may take up to one week from the date their office receives your request for the application materials to be delivered; three or more weeks for international delivery. Application documents cannot be sent via overnight or express mail.
Financial AssistanceThe department annually awards a limited number of fellowships, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships to incoming graduate students. To be considered for department assistance as an entering student, applicants must indicate their funding preference on the supplemental form in the online application. With the exception of applying for student loans, it is not necessary to submit a financial aid application. Notification regarding most types of financial assistance is sent to recipients in March. Because not all entering EE students secure funding as they begin their graduate studies at Stanford, prospective students are encouraged to apply for outside sources of funding. Existing Stanford Students(coterminal, non EE students wishing to add/change their degree status, EE Master's-only students wanting to take the qualifying examination) Stanford charges a US $50 application fee per Coterminal Application and a US $125 application fee per Graduate Authorization Petition.
