Current Stanford PhD students in a department outside of EE may be eligible to apply for the MS in Electrical Engineering through the Graduate Program Authorization Petition (Grad Auth).
Please consult the Graduate Program Authorization Petition page on the Registrar's website for the University's minimum eligibility requirements for the petition. Applicants to our department must also meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Stanford PhD program in a related field (e.g., engineering, physical sciences, mathematics).
- Applicants must have completed a minimum of two (2) full-time quarters (excluding summer) of technical coursework before applying to the EE-MS program. For example, if you entered Stanford in autumn quarter, the earliest term for which you can apply is spring quarter of that academic year.
Stanford students enrolled in a master's program outside the department must apply through the full-time application process in order to add or transfer to the EE-MS program. They are not eligible to apply via the Grad Auth.
